Here’s a note that i penned on my flight journey to Mumbai to attend Your Param Satsang today.
With Your Love in my heart, i am going to share this with my family and friends, thus it is written in ‘second person narrative’.
Kindest Dev, this is the effect of Your Love and i want the whole world to benefit by Your deep Wisdom & Love filled Grace.

Friends, i am sharing something that i learnt from my dearest Gurudev. A simple change in perspective that has completely changed the way i do business and conduct transactions.
An idea that has me smiling more and more. A practice that makes me feel good every time.
An act that used to be an unpleasant experience is now one that helps me feel good and pass on a little more love into the world.
In one of His Satsangs, Pujya Gurudev was sharing how we add unnecessary stress and unpleasantness in our life.
As an example he said, ‘businessmen do business to make money to live a happier life for themselves and their loved ones. He went on to share that in order for business to happen there has to be a customer, supplier and employees. As businessman we see the customer as the most important person in bringing happiness to us. While this is true, He said to balance the scale of a supplier and your employer are equally important.
Gurudev shared that when we receive monies from our customers we are happy and when it comes to paying our suppliers and employees we hold back, we are not pleasant, we are not happy about it, because we see them as taking away monies from our share, our bag and our profit.
This has been the way for years, almost always – i treat my customers with affection, respect and warmth and i treat my suppliers, employees and vendors and agents with slight dislike, sometimes disrespect & even coldness.
This comes to the fore when we pay monies and dues to our suppliers and salary and commission to our employees and agents.
This is where Pujya Gurudev’s amazing wisdom, fresh perceptive and love stepped in to change my life and my perspective. This is where He made a fantastic difference to my happiness-index.
He said, for business to happen, for business to continue profitably, you need, not just your customer but also your suppliers and employees, to be happy and positive.
Most Piously He said, from now on, when you pay monies or sign a cheque or make a bank transfer to anyone, do it with lots of Gratitude, Love and Positively.
He said, pay the monies wishing that the recipient is able to use the monies gainfully in good health to enhance his Love, Goodwill and Happiness.
He said, don’t give in to the temptation to cut/deduct for small errors, don’t seek revenge for goof ups and don’t pay monies cursing their shortcomings.
He said, be fair, be gentle & be generous.
He said…
you have to pay your agents, you have to pay vendors, you have to pay employees to sustain and grow the business. These are a given, these are a must, these are inevitable then why stress over it, can you not do it with Love, Gratitude and Kindness ?
When i first heard this message, it left me speechless for a little while.
How, He who has never engaged in business was able to give such a profound insight ?
How, He who has never purchased or sold anything had such sound business advice?
How, He who is the King of the Spiritual world be so clear about the Material world transactions ?
And a switch flipped somewhere inside and my deep rooted instincts switched sides. i realised that just by inserting love into an act that is inevitable, i was able to make a stressful act become a pleasant and positive experience.
And now, when i need to pay my supplier, my vendor, my agent, my employee i stop for a few seconds, shift from head to heart and wish them well, wish the monies bring prosperity, good health and peace to them and their loved ones.
The result has been a spectacular change in my well being and peace.
The result is, my relationship with these individuals has changed.
The result is, i feel good about being a businessman.
Surprisingly my vendors WANT to work more with me.
The reality is the profitability in my heart has gone up more and more.
Also i shudder to think what if i had not adopted this teaching. The stress levels would keep on rising and the happiness-index would keep going down.
This change is nothing short of a miracle. It takes time for this habit to form. It takes time for the effect to be felt, but i assure you that it does wonders for my Head, Heart and Happiness.
Dev, this is why i say over and over, ‘all good in me is by Your Grace’.
